AFSC Rec League Schedule Update
The Recreation League practice times have been updated to 5-6pm on Tuesdays & Thursdays. Saturday the Recreation League games will go from 8:30-9:30am.
'02 Girls White & '98 Girls Red Are Victorious up in Flagstaff
The weekend was a huge success for AFSC at the Girls side of Soccer at the Summit. We had several teams do very well but in particular, the '02 Girls White & '98 Girls Red teams did extremely well. They both went undefeated through the tournament to bring home Championship Medals. Congratulations Girls!

'97 Boys Take Soccer at the Summit Championship
The '97 Boys convincingly won the U15/U16 bracket in the Soccer at the Summit tournament in Flagstaff over the September 9th weekend. They went 4-0 including the Finali victory over a Boys U16 team. Our '98 Boys also did very well, coming up just short by losing to Flagstaff 3-1 in the U14 final. The '01 Boys made the Semi-finals as well. Congratulations to all our boys teams on the great results.

'99 Girls Win Notts Forest Cup / '04 Girls Take 2nd at Desert Elite
The '99 Girls White team went undefeated over the Labor Day weekend to win the Silver bracket of the Notts Forest Cup in San Diego. 3 players scored 2 goals each and the team only gave up 1 goal in the 5 games. Great job girls!

The '04 Girls White took an impressive second place over Labor Day weekend at the Desert Elite Inaugural Cup. The girls went 1-0-2 and the championship game went to penalty kicks (1-2) after a 4-4 tie. The girls displayed tremendous effort throughout the three-day tournament and are excited for a competitive season! Great job Girls!!

AFSC Fall 2011 Recreational Program
The Recreation Program Opening Day will be on September 17th, from 8:30 to 9:30am. Teams will begin practicing the week of September 20th. Practice will be twice a week. Games will be played every Saturday at Pecos Park starting on September 24th through November 19th. 10 weeks and 8 games in all.
Price is $80 for the season, if you are a new player - then there is $30 for uniform kit which includes two jerseys, socks, and shorts. A pair of shin guards are mandatory, cleats are nice, but not a requirement

AFSC wrapped up their 2011-2012 Competitive team player assessments on Thursday, May 19th. We are happy to announce that the Club is growing and will have many more teams next season, giving players better opportunities to play with the right team. AFSC '02 Girls Win Yavapai Cup!

The U9 Girls White team finished in first place in the Yavapai Cup in Prescott over April 1-3, 2011. The girls had an impressive showing with a total of 30 goals over four games. Two games ended in shoot-outs. They beat CCV 7-3 in the final to win the championship. The girls will surely be a force next season!

AFSC '00 Girls White Win Blackhawks Invitational, 98 Boys are Finalists
Congratulations to our '00 Girls White who were Champions of the Red bracket in the Blackhawks Invitational. They won all 4 games played over the weekend. Our '98 Boys White team also finished as Finalists in the White bracket of the tournament. Great job girls and boys!
AFSC '98 Girls White and '97 Boys White Are Finalists at Desert Classic
Congratulations to our '98 Girls White and '97 Boys White teams for their Finalist finish at the 2011 Desert Classic. Both teams lost 2-1 in the finals and had a great tournament.

'02 Girls Take Hammers Cup
The Ahwatukee '02 Girls White had a great Hammers Cup tournament, winning in the Final 2-0 over Desert Elite 02 Black. The girls did not give up a single goal in the tournament!
'98 Girls White Start Off Strong in League Play
The Ahwatukee '98 Girls White beat the Blackhawks on Saturday (10/2) to go to 3-0 in State League, Division 1 play. They are currently in 2nd place in the division. Their next challenge will be playing in the U14 Silver bracket of the Gilbert Arsenal Challenge over Columbus Day weekend. Good luck girls!

Congratulations to '98 Girls White on Winning Notts Forest Cup
The Ahwatukee '98 Girls White team won the Bronze division of the Notts Forest Cup over Labor Day weekend. They pulled out a thrilling victory in the final, winning in Penalty Kicks. Congratulations girls! Other congratulations go to our '96 Girls for making the finals and our '99 Girls White team for making the semi-finals of the Gold division.
'98 Girls Red Take Indoor Final in Dramatic Fashion!
Our '98 Girls Red beat the '99 Girls White 4-3 to win the PSC Indoor Final. The '99 Girls were up 1-0 at halftime. The '98s came back and went ahead 3-2 in the second half. With 2 seconds left, the '99s tied it up! The two teams then went into overtime where the '98s promptly scored a sudden death goal to win the game! Congratulations to both teams for the great indoor season.

Open Cup Update
Congratulations to our '98 Girls Red! They won the U12 Open Cup championship in the Silver bracket. Other congratulations go to our '96 Girls White, who were finalists in the U14 Gold bracket and to '99 Girls White who took 3rd place in the U11 Gold bracket. Great job girls!
Spring Academy

Great job Mack on the Today Show!
Mackenzie was on the Today show on March 11th and was amazing! Watch the video. Her story is incredibly inspiring and it was fantastic to hear about her recovery and see her walking on the show. Her positive spirit and determination were on display for everyone to see. Gary, Liz and Mack did a great job on the show. Way to go Mack!
Blackhawks Invitational
Congratulations to our '99 Girls Red & '98 Girls Red on their tournament play this weekend at the Blackhawks Invitational. The rain washed out the conclusion of the tournament but they played well enough to earn Finalist status.
Gilbert Arsenal Challenge
Congratulations to our '00 Girls & '97 Boys on their tournament championships this weekend at the Gilbert Arsenal Challenge! Our '00 Boys also played great but lost 1-0 in the final. Congratulations on a great tournament!
3 v 3 Tournament - January 2010
AFSC held their annual 3v3 tournament on January 2nd. Donations were collected and given to Mackenzie. Thanks to all the contributions at the tournament, which was close to $900! Our 1st and 2nd place finishes are listed below. Congratulations!

Registration is now open for AYSA's season-ending state competitions. Open Cup is now called Presidents Cup. Presidents Cup will be played over the March 18th & 25th weekends. State Cup for U12 & U13 will begin on the weekend of April 8th. For more information, click here.
Spring Recreation League / Development Academy - Registration Now Available
AFSC is offering a Spring Recreation League / Development Academy for kids up to 10 years old. Sessions will be ran by Professional Coaches and kids will be able to choose which sessions they want to attend. Sessions will be held Monday - Thursday at various starting times to offer families flexibility. The Academy is a great low-cost option for kids wanting to play soccer but not ready for competitive club. Register here -Registration

AFSC is very pleased to announce the hiring of Vinicius (Vini) Dos Santos as our new Director of Coaching. Ahwatukee '00 Boys Win CCV Shoot for the Stars!
The '00 Boys team beat the Scottsdale Soccer Blackhawks R2 team by a score of 4-3 in a thrilling Finals game at the CCV Stars Shoot for the Stars Tournament on Sunday, January 23rd. It was an exciting day as the team from Ahwatukee had to go to a penalty shootout earlier in the day to beat Flagstaff Soccer Club 3-2 in the Semi-Finals to make it to the Finals.
Ahwatukee '03 Girls Rock in Fort Lowell Shootout!
Bruce Hough and his U8 "Lightning Bolts" had a very successful weekend at the Fort Lowell Shootout in Tucson last weekend! The girls took 2nd place overall and impressively placed 1st in accuracy shooting, 1st in speed dribbling, 1st in juggling and 2nd in shootout kicks at the soccer Olympics. It was a fantastic time!
Ahwatukee '04 Girls Kick-off Season 2
The U7 girls are getting to start season 2. They recently played in the San Tan Holiday Classic, where they finished 3rd in the tournament. The team is coached by Taylor Hough. Good luck girls!

Ahwatukee '98 Boys & '02 Girls Win San Tan Holiday Classic
Congratulations to the '98 Boys team and to the '02 Girls team for finishing as Champions at the December 2011 San Tan Holiday Classic. Other highlights from the tournament include the '99 Girls Red team who lost in the finals after a 0-0 tie went into Penalty Kicks. The U10 Boys and U14 Boys also finished as finalists as well. Great job Ahwatukee!

Our own Mackenzie Saunders continues to inspire us all!
Mackenzie has been walking without aide since late spring but physical therapy continues to be a big part of her life as she hopes to run and get back to soccer. Now Mack is on a mission to help other children in the hospital keep their spirits up over the holidays. Ahwatukee '99 Red Wins Kick For The Cure
Congratulations to the Girls 99 Red team for winning all 4 games to finish as Champion for the Kick for The Cure B bracket. The girls gave up 2 goals over the 4 games, shutting out 3 of the 4 opponents. Great job girls!

Ahwatukee '98 Red Takes Patriots Cup Final to Penalty Kicks
Congratulations to the Girls 98 Red team for making it to the U13 Gold Finals of the MSC Patriot's Cup. After packing in four games in the previous 48 hours, including victories over North Scottsdale White, Sereno South White and Tucson Mountains SFC Orange, the girls came up just short in penalty kicks after holding a very solid SC Del Sol Evans team scoreless in regulation and two overtimes. Well done, Red!
Ahwatukee '98 & '99 Girls White Teams Finish in top half of State League, Division 1
The '98 Girls White team finished in 3rd place in league play at the conclusion of season 1, going 5-2. The '99 Girls White team finished in 4th place, going 4-1-2. Their only loss was in week 1 of league play. Great job girls!
