RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR U5, U6, & U7 DIVISIONS
Law I: The field
- The field dimensions will be 40 yards long and 25 yards wide.
- Field will be divided in halves
- Goals are small (4 by 6 feet)
Law II: The ball
Law III: Number of players.
- Each team must field at least 4 players per side. (thus, a 4 v 4 sided game)
- Each team should have at least 7-8 players on the roster.
Law IV: Player’s equipment:
- Tennis shoes or soft-cleated soccer shoes
- Shin guards are MANDATORY!
- Players will wear uniforms and/or pennies.
Law V: Duration of Game:
- Two 20 minute halves, with a 5 minute half-time. Running clock.
Law VI: Referee:
- One Referee provided for each match by the Ahwatukee Club.
Law VII: Soccer Rules:
- General soccer rules apply with exception of the following…
- When ball is kicked out of bounds, ball is put into play with a kick on the ground with opponents at least 5 yards away.
- No offside rule, except when a player just stands next to goal too long.
- No goal-keepers.
- If ball is kicked over the goal-line, the team on that side of the field will keep. No corner kicks. Team will kick the ball from the ground from the goal-line.
- All fouls or free kicks will be an indirect free kick with opponent’s at least 6 yards away.
- No penalty kicks since there are no keepers.
- Free Substitutions on a dead ball situation.
Law VIII: Start of Play.
- Beginning of game, start of second half, and after score, ball will be placed at center area, and opposing team will pass the ball to begin play.

Law X: Sportsmanship:
- After completion of game, players and coaches should shake hands and congratulate each other.
Law XI: Courtesy and safety rules:
- No foul language or gestures by players, coaches, and parents, and spectators.
- No derogatory comments to players, coaches, spectators, or parents.
- No alcoholic beverages or smoking materials allowed at practices or games.
- Non-playing players and spectators must be at least 5 yards away from sidelines for safety reasons.

Law I: The field:
- The field dimensions will be 50 by 30 yards.
- Half-field lines set, and goal area set.
- Goals: 6 by 9 foot size with goal box being 5 by 5 yards.
Law II: The ball:
Law III: Number of players:
- Teams per side should have 6 players on the field, one is a keeper.
- Teams should comprise of at least 8-10 players.
Law IV: Player’s Equipment:
- Each player should wear tennis shoes, or soft-cleated soccer shoes.
- MANDATORY wearing of shin guards.
- Teams will have uniforms and/or pennies. Keepers will wear different color than others.
Law V: Duration of game:
- Two twenty minute halves, with a five minute half-time. Running clock.
Law VI: Referee:
- Each soccer match, one referee will be provided by Ahwatukee club.
- Referee will enforce rules and game.
Law VII: Soccer Rules:
- General soccer rules apply except in the following….
- All fouls and free kicks will be an indirect free kick. Opponent’s must be 6 yards away.
- NO offside rule, except if player(s) stands in front of goal.
- No penalty kicks.
- There will be corner kicks, goal-kicks, and throw-ins.
- No kicks shall be taken by attacking team within defending team’s goal box.
Law VIII: Start of play:
- Play begins from Center area beginning of game, beginning of 2nd half, and after every goal scored. Opponents must be at least 6 yards away.
Law IX: Method of scoring:
- Scores maybe kept by referee, but will not be recorded.
Law X: Sportsmanship
- After each soccer match, opposing coaches and players shall shake hands and congratulate each other.
Law XI: Courtesy and Safety rules:

- No alcoholic or smoking materials shall be consumed at practices or games.
- Spectators, coaches and non-playing players, should be at least 5 yards away from side-lines.
- NO derogatory comments to parents, coaches, referees, or spectators.
